1. Kinkakuji Temple

4. Fushimi Inari Shrine
Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine (伏見稲荷大社) became Kyoto’s most visited shrine since the shrine’s iconic vermilion torii gates made an appearance on the movie Memoirs of a Geisha in 2005.
Fushimi Inari Taisha may be the busiest tourist destination in Japan today, but there's a way to avoid the crowds when it's there! Take the “Fushimi Inari Hidden Hike Tour” via the secret route and see the different sides of the shrine off the crowded main path!
5. Kiyomizudera Temple
Kiyomizudera Temple (清水寺) is one of the most important and oldest historical sites in Japan built-in 780. The temple is especially popular in autumn, and a light-up is held during autumn leaves season.
6. Ginkakuji Temple
Ginkakuji Temple (銀閣寺) is a Zen temple also known as the Silver Pavilion because it was modeled after Kinkakuji Temple (the Golden Pavilion).
7. Yasaka Pagoda
Yasaka Temple (坂 の) is located at Hokanji Temple in Higashiyama District in the eastern part of Kyoto City. It is the district's famous landmark and is one of the most photographed places in Kyoto. Visitors can really go inside the temple, too.
8. Gion
Gion is a district of Higashiyama Ward in Kyoto City, used to be an entertainment district and is known as the home of Geisha / Maiko dancers.
9. Kawadoko at Kamogawa River
Every big city has a symbolic river inside, do you agree ?? Kamogawa River or Kamo River (鴨川) is a symbolic river run through the city of Kyoto, and a popular landmark itself. The riverbank of Kamogawa River is a great spot to walk down and it’s lined by numbers of cafes and restaurants.
In the summer, they extend their outer terrace towards the river and create a larger seat space by the river so guests can feel the breeze in hot weather. This is called Kawadoko, and it’s one of the traditions in the Kyoto area. Enjoy the delicious and authentic Kyoto cuisine with a pleasant view of the Kamo River only in the summertime!
10. Togetsukyo Bridge
Arashiyama is a touristic area outside of the city, and it’s popular for important historic monuments and rich nature. Togetsukyo Bridge (渡月橋) is a symbol of the Arashiyama area, originally built during the Heian Period (794–1185). The bridge is illuminated during the Hanatouro festival in December.
