Top 10 things to do in Georgia

Are you a night owl? Whatever the reason, there are things to do in Atlanta when the sun goes down.

Here are top 10 things to do in Georgia.

1. The Basement Theatre

Ever wanted to check out an underground Improv Comedy Theatre? Look no further! This comedy club features acts at 8pm and 10pm Thursday-Saturday nights and tickets are available online. Traveling with children? No problem because the 8pm show on Fridays is G-Rated (you can also stay late for the R-Rated Comedy).

2. The Porter Beer Bar

The food! Think classic pub fair with a gourmet twist.

3. Sleep over at the Aquarium

You might normally consider attractions such as aquariums and zoos to be geared toward families and daytime activities. Well the Georgia Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world and it is truly phenomenal. It also schedules sleep overs in which you get daytime admission and special tours and activities to enjoy at night before choosing a place to sleep near a gallery window. They also organize different sleepovers for different groups such as kids, families, scouts, and even adult sleepovers.

4. SkyView Atlanta

Take in the view of the city at night from 20 stories above popular Centennial Park on the SkyView Atlanta Ferris Wheel. Each gondola is climate controlled for maximum comfort while you ride and take in panoramic views. Try the VIP seats with glass floors and a longer ride time. You can also get a discount parking voucher when you ride and it makes a great compliment to your downtown shopping and dining experience.

5. Top Golf

If you’re up for a sporty activity, you’ll enjoy Top Golf Atlanta with its climate-controlled hitting bays, full-service restaurant and bar, free WiFi, and a rooftop terrace with a fire pit. Great for couples or groups, this venue has thought of everything to make it a good time.

6. Haunted Evening Atlanta Pub Tour

Allow a southern lady or gentleman to take you and a group on a walking tour through some of Atlanta’s pub haunts! After meeting at the cemetery, you’ll be able to purchase a drink at each stop while you listen to spooky tales of departed souls such as the confederate soldiers who roam the area. The tour ends at a kitchen that is open late so you can grab some food. It’s a unique tour that will give you a taste of old southern story telling tradition while you take in the city atmosphere.

7. Bar Margot

Bar Margot is fine dining right in the Four Seasons Atlanta hotel. The culinary team consists of an executive chef who incorporates food fresh from his roof top garden and two beverage specialists. Not only are alcoholic drinks top notch but the coffees are of the highest quality. Much love and care go into the preparation of every drink and dish and it will be a dining experience to remember!

8. The Sound Table

If dinner, cocktails, music, and dancing sound like the way you want to spend your evening, check out the Sound Table. You’ll want to get in early to get some food as the place fills up quickly with returning guests who love the service and atmosphere. Don’t forget your dancing shoes!

9. Hankook Taqueria

At Hankook Taqueria, the street vendor taco truck meets traditional Korean food. Tomas Lee brings his expertise from working as a chef in New York and Georgia as he creates these interesting food fusions that keep visitors coming back for more. Just imagine beef bul gogi served in a tortilla with cilatro, lime, jack cheese, and soy sesame vinaigrette; it’s a flavor explosion!

10. Alon's Bakery and Market

This European-style market and bakery has an old world traditional ambiance that will make you feel like you’ve slipped away to a place in a story book. Freshly baked bread, gourmet pantry foods, and eloquent dining are available from morning until late Monday-Saturday. The only thing that may be more captivating than the market is Alon’s story. To paraphrase, he grew up in Israel, worked in bakeries throughout Europe, immigrated to the United States in the 1980s and settled in Georgia where he met the love of his life, started a family, and never looked back. He used his skills as a baker and experience in European markets to recreate the experience in Atlanta. It’s a lovely little gem of a place to visit!
