Located in southern Thailand, Krabi is an incredibly popular tourist destination.
It has incredible natural beauty, ranging from amazing limestone caves and cliffs to white sandy beaches, blessed with incredible weather, except for the rainy season between May and November.
Although Krabi gets a lot of visitors all year-round, its nightlife remains authentic and unpretentious. Night owls in Krabi can shop, get a drink or watch entertaining performances or live games. Visitors are in for a night of non-stop entertainment and activities no matter which options they go for.
1. Center Point
Center Point is your one-stop night entertainment complex! Get your grub and drinks, buy souvenirs and watch exotic shows, all in one place. Located on the beachfront, the open area accommodates restaurants, bars and even a tattoo place! The second floor is where more mature bars and karaoke rooms are, so you’re definitely in for a night of entertainment. There are many different food options to choose from and they have different nights dedicated to different cuisines, such as Cairo Night for Middle Eastern food.
Don’t forget to also catch the ladyboy Blue Dragon Cabaret Show, one of the many fixtures of Center Point. The cabaret show goes live three times a night at 8 pm, 9:30 pm and 11 pm.
2. Why Not Bar
The Why Not Bar is the perfect beachside bar for honeymoon couples who want to have a relaxed night instead of a night full of partying. The bar plays good live music that makes up part of the chill ambience. Although it is a short drive (and a boat) away from Krabi town, the live performance and fire shows every night, make it a lovely place to enjoy a night by the beach.
3. Chilling Bar and Restaurant
If you’re a sports junkie and you happen to be in Krabi on the night your team is playing, Chilling Bar is perhaps the best place to catch a live game. They show live broadcasts of major games, have free wifi and play live music. What’s not to like?
Since the bar is one of the more popular spots in Krabi, you might want to be there early if an anticipated game is playing!
4. Krabi Town Walking Street (Weekend Night Market)
Take a night off partying and drinking and go shopping instead! There are many stalls selling local Thai street food and drinks and even stalls dedicated to cocktails. There are live music performances from kids performances to musicians performing folk songs. This is also the place to get your local handicrafts, such as leather bags.
If you get tired or if the weather is too hot for you, you can also rest your feet at the nearby Vogue Department Store.
5. Illumanorah performance at Paka Showpark
A show that appeals to people of all ages, the Manorah show tells the tale of the Kinnaree, a half-bird half-woman, from a Thai folk tale, with a modern twist. The traditional tale is told by fusing contemporary and traditional Thai performance styles, costumes and lighting. The round stage ensures that you get a good view of the performance, no matter where you sit.
Some ticket packages include a seafood buffet option, so you can choose to dine at the venue before the show. You can also get your photograph taken with the cast.
6. Roots Rock Reggae Bar
A hotly frequented joint, Roots Rock Reggae Bar is the place to be for the avid fan of live music. The band of the night takes requests and does not limit the requests to rock and reggae music only, despite the name of the bar. Of course, a night in this bar is not complete without a Thai fire performance!
Food is not served at this establishment so its best that you get some dinner before coming to the bar for drinks.
7. Tew Lay Bar
Located at the east end of Railay beach, Tew Lay is a gorgeous open bar with bamboo flooring and situated on the rocks. Visitors can sit or lie in the hammocks and enjoy the view of the sunset and sea or relax and be soothed by the sound of the waves. The bar is completely surrounded by nature, so you might want to bring some insect repellant with you.
The bar serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and also Thai and Western food for you to have your dinner. If you happen to be around the area during the daytime, the bar also offers cooking lessons, if you wish to learn how to cook authentic Thai dishes.
8. Rick's Bar
Rick’s Bar is a well-frequented joint, owing to its central location and clean premises. Drinks here are cheap and the atmosphere is always bustling, but not too loud. Every week, the bar holds tournaments for different games such as darts, for a little bit of extra fun!
9. Bamboo Bar
Another beachfront bar, Bamboo Bar is made simply of bamboo and wood, thatched together and lit by neon signs and fairy lights. Located at the back of Railay Walking Street, Bamboo Bar has its own boxing ring and a tattoo parlor, so you can do more than just drink!
