1. Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Crotone
Only 18 km along this coast, this area is the tool of legends and legends. The Pantheon of superheroes is all here: Homer, calypso. Ulysses and even Hannibal built a lookout tower, which now remains a majestic ruin of a castle built in the 13th century, strikingly silhouetted against the azure blue waters of the sea.
Divine premonitions have a hook that draws me in every time. Croton's fortunes were predicted long before its foundations had been laid. Possessing a mild climate is a draw-card for any town but to lie in a fertile plain between a river's mouth is a plus in anyone's book.
2. Da Capo Colonna A Le Castella
The remains of a large temple during the Greek period. One of the highlights of culture in Calabria. You need some tough imagination.
3. Santuario Madonna Di Capocolonna
It was a small church next to Nao Tower and that was it. Nothing special to see here. A church, an enclosed tower, a pillar, some ancient ruins, and a bar ... are disappointing.
4. Museo E Parco Archeologico Nazionale Di Capo Colonna
Right on the headland are an archaeological site and a museum worth a visit. It has just cleaned the spring flowers to make it easier to see the site. Lots of birds to see as well.
5. Capo Colonna
La Colonna... the pillar. OK, look at the picture. That's it! You can't approach it because it's surrounded by a fence, it's legal to treat the neck pillar as the only remaining part of history but there's nothing else to see. Is it worth to go there?
If you have nothing else to do that day, it is cloud and you are tired to go to the beach, then yes. Bring water with you.
6. Castello Di Carlo V
I enjoyed the views of the ocean and the city which can be seen from here without any obstacles. Not too much to see of the Castello itself though.
7. Santa Maria Assunta E San Dionigi L'areopagita
A classic duomo/cathedral at the city center of Crotone. The interior is quite modern and is a fully functional church. It is the first approach and place to visit when visiting the old part of Crotone. A quick visit is enough.
8. Lungo Mare Cristoforo Colombo
Well maintained it provides a pleasant ride and you are spoiled for choice if you want to have dinner or take a break to have a drink. Attractive at sunset.
9. Torre Nao
There is absolutely nothing around this place. A pillar, some rest of the old buildings, a church, a small bar, and this tower cannot be visited. To be August it wasn't that populated so we think it is not that popular despite the very large parking nearby (with no or few cars parked).
There is a billboard with a button that was supposed to provide information about the place but didn't work.
10. Torre Scifo
A pristine red beach in the shadows of the ancient Scifo tower. To reach by boat or venture along the Capo Colonna roads.
