1. Riserva Naturale Biviere
Only 1300 meters from the sea - A small lake - A stopping spot for bird travelers - And a home for some other species - Very calm, Beautiful sunsets - A true phase of tranquility!
2. Museo Archeologico Di Gela
The museum was reasonably interesting but we probably only spent about half an hour there. None of the explanations/leaflets were in English, the staff on the day, didn't speak much English and displays are very traditional. However there are a lot of red and black vases and lots of coins.
3. Chiesa Madre Gela
At the end of the day, you either like it or you don't. Traveling through Europe a lot, you see a lot. I think this is one of the nicer ones to see. But as I said, a matter of taste. Be your own judge.
4. Manfria
Beautiful coast, virtually unfounded ... only you, nature and history .. you can snorkel, swim without sharks, but you can also take a long walk while contemplating Spectacular views and spectacular sunsets! You can also see some of the stairs shaped on the rocks during Operation Husky (WW2). The right place to RELAX.
5. Lungo Mare Federico Ii Di Svevia
Even if you arrive in March, I guess you won't be afraid to swim. But you can still take a long walk on a beautiful sand beach. Many facilities are available for your meal. Many fish menu based restaurants as well.. Beautiful sea. Even nicer view from the ' vecchio pontile '.
6. Capo Soprano
Capo Soprano is a vibrant and vast neighborhood and it represents the city's real fireplace in my opinion of you. Many bars and fast food, take away restaurants. A very short walk away from the sea as well!
7. Convento Frati Minori Cappuccini
Always feel great when returning to visit and sit in The Chiesa Cappuccini for a while - I love This One! There is a Beautiful View in Front of the Church - Great for Sunsets!
8. Castello Svevo Di Gela
It was closed when I went. Looked like no one had been around for years. I still drove all the way up to the gate. Even though I couldn't go it it was worth the drive up.
9. Chiesa Del Carmine
It occupies the position of the ancient Annunciation Church, dating back to the first half of the sixteenth century. On the façade of the church is a beautiful Romanesque portal.
Inside are a number of works of art dating from around the 19th century, a series of paintings dating back to the beginning of this century, a holy water backdrop from 1571 and an organ dating from 1917.
It is also worth noting that the Cross of the 15th century, painted on wood against a yellow background and is considered by many to be magical. The celebration of Madonna del Carmine takes place on July 16.
10. Chiesa San Francesco D'assisi
The church is not very big but well cared for. The beautiful golden decorations and especially the ceiling of an intense blue color bring brightness to the entire environment. One of the most beautiful churches in Gela: not to be missed.
