1. Extended Stay America - Washington, D.C. - Alexandria - Eisenhower Ave
My wife absolutely loves this hotel. We have never come across another staff that was so warm and friendly especially Muhammed who went above and beyond his duties to make sure that not only our but my wife's service dogs were not only met but exceeded in every way.
2. Homewood Suites Alexandria
We always make trips to Springfield, VA to visit my wife's family and have stayed at another hotel every time. We decided to try this property this year and we're really happy that we did!!
The staff was very thoughtful and helpful throughout our stay. We have a two-room with a king bed in one room and a queen sofa bed in the other room so that my daughter has a door between her and snoring !!!
The room is large, with a lovely kitchenette including a full fridge, microwave, and stove. WIFI is great, as this is a newer property. Climate control works very well (never taking it for granted !!) and the bedroom is quiet.
The only noise problem is in another room because it is adjacent to the next room with only one door between them. The last people in that room watched TV day and night, sometimes too loudly, but that was really the only complaint.
If you are approaching the hotel using GPS, realize that access to the property is slightly changed and you need to approach the property from the roads by the shopping center- you can't turn off the top of the new overpass!!!
Housekeep did a great and thorough job all our five days stayed. The hotel is located in a great location, walking distance to shopping and Starbucks. This is going to be the property we stay in on our future visits!!
3. Hampton Inn Alexandria - Old Town/King Street Metro
Convenient location with large and comfortable rooms. The mattress and pillow are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is lovely but will want to see more choices. There is no wardrobe in the room and that is a problem because I have no place to hang my clothes.
Staff helpful outside. Quite an air. As a tourist, I feel very safe here. Good value. The free newspaper is a nice addition.
4. SpringHill Suites Alexandria Old Town/Southwest
The hotel has had a remodel since we were last there and the breakfast area was much nicer and more of open space. The room was nice but didn’t notice a major change. For the first time staying in this hotel, we noticed the freeway noise.
Breakfast was fine but would love some berries as described in the pictures above the food station. Also, the tables were not wiped promptly so we had to clean them ourselves. We have stayed here many times and this was the first time we noticed these issues.
5. Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Belvoir Alexandria South
This is a very pleasant stay. The facilities are clean and orderly. My room is clean and does not have the "inn smell" that I am used to. Linens and other room items are abundant. I can say that this is one of my best vacations in any lodge. The inspection officer, Angela, even remembered my name the next day!
