Top 7 Cheap hotels in Vienna

Here are the best cheap hotels in Vienna!

1. Hotel Kaerntnerhof

This privately run hotel offers excellent value for money to those wishing to explore the center of Vienna on foot.

It takes 5 minutes on foot from where Val2 airport bus takes you to Vienna. The service runs every half hour for € 8 one-way or € 13 return. Tickets are valid for 28 days and can be purchased outside the airport in vending machines adjacent to bus stops.

The rooms are quite small but have very high ceilings that brighten them up. The rooms are spotless with a modern bathroom equipped with either a bath with a shower attached to the wall or just a shower.

Water was always hot and toiletries were provided as were crisp white towels. We had a double bed which had 2 single duvets, which is an ever-increasing style in Europe. Rooms were spotless and were serviced quietly whilst we had breakfast.

Breakfast offered an excellent choice of fayre. Lovely bread, fruit, yogurts, scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, cereals, cheese, tomatoes, and cold meats. A large variety of tea and coffee (by caffettiera or machine).

The service sometimes becomes busy because the breakfast room is quite small and the staff is kept quite busy to replenish ingredients as they run out and set the table. You could get tea or coffee in reception between 1 pm and 10 pm via a quaint urn.

The receptionists were very efficient in a fairly rigid but very helpful and polite way. Upper floors were served by a vintage lift, in keeping with the building, which was quiet and a novelty.

I would recommend this hotel due to its location being in a quiet cul de sac and a few minute's walks from the huge cathedral and other major attractions this wonderful place has to offer.

There was no tea or coffee making facilities in our room which was the only downside. The room safe was a little clumsy in its mechanism which we couldn’t quite master. Good value and good location.

2. BASSENA Wien Messe Prater

We only stayed for one night and didn't have much time to explore or even see everything the hotel has to offer. However, the rooms are comfortable and I slept well. Breakfast is also very delicious, with a variety of foods.

My only complaint was that we chose this hotel in part because they advertised the airport shuttle. That just means they will book an airport transfer for you. It is NOT included in the cost of the hotel and you will have to pay 30 EUR more than the amount you paid for your room.

That was a bit frustrating since, as I mentioned, that was part of why we chose this hotel. I always get frustrated with extra costs on top of what you have already paid.

3. Austria Classic Hotel Wien

The hotel is located in district 2 in Vienna, just 3 minutes from the famous Prater and train station. You can also take a train to the airport from the train station directly. You can easily have access to supermarkets.

The hotel staff is very nice and friendly. It has a good breakfast. You need to take the train to go to the city center which is in the first district or you can walk there in 30 minutes. The rooms are very clean.

If you don't mind being half an hour away from the city center, it's a great place to stay.

4. Motel One Wien Westbahnhof

She stayed here 3 nights on a sightseeing trip but her husband also went on business. Great location next to the station and even on weekends busy, the staff took time to look after you.

The room is on the small side but has everything you need. Breakfast at €11.50 was well worth it. Plenty of choices, decent coffee, sets you up for the day!

5. Boutiquehotel Stadthalle

What a hotel! If you want to understand how to live a greener life, I highly recommend staying at this hotel for a while. Our room is very small, but it is great to see how it can fit in quite a small space and how the hotel has taken care of different ways (as an outlet for fresh air from the garden). ).

The staff is also lovely and looks after us so great. And the breakfast is absolutely delicious, with a variety of organic items to choose from - and great for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

The hotel is within walking distance of two metro stations and a few minutes from the nearest tram stop. There were also a number of restaurants around. The area where the hotel is located is fairly quiet - seems like a residential area - and was nice to stay in, away from the touristy parts. Would love to go back again. Highly recommended.

6. Hotel Zipser

My husband and I stayed for two nights in early December to see the Christmas market. It is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood within walking distance to several restaurants and Christmas markets in Rathaus.

The breakfast is varied, hot and delicious. Our rooms are good sized and the bathroom is equipped with everything we need. Frau Pan at the reception is very attractive and full of advice for us.

This is our second trip to Vienna and it is great to be in a new area with lovely architecture. We recommend you here.

7. Hotel Terminus

Breakfast .. ok. We are satisfied since we visited the city and want to spend as much time as possible in museums, parks, on the street. So the main aspect we love about this place is cleanliness.

In certain conditions, some visitors may not like any refrigerator, no air conditioning, not a very fresh aspect of walls and furniture. The third bed in our trio is not really a bed but an extended chair .. did the job but not as comfortable as a real bed.

The breakfast was quite dull but was helpful. some eggs wouldn't hurt as a starter for a day - or something local. I mean, it’s a fair meal but with supermarket food. Walk to Quartier Museum, House of the Sea (Haus des Meeres), shopping streets, other museums, parks. Very friendly and helpful staff.
