1. Hotel Roma

Great location with views of the Tower. Super clean, extremely attentive staff, nice breakfast. My favorite in Pisa so far: nothing can fit into such a location and budget.

2. Hotel Di Stefano

We upgraded to an upscale room - very large and comfortable beds and very good sized rooms. The bathroom has a good shower and very clean. Ricardo at the reception desk is very helpful.

The location is very central and close to the tower and many restaurants (though the nearby 'tunnel' is a bit creepy). A full breakfast - typical continent - is great when offered some eggs to change. All in all a very good family-run hotel for 3 stars.

3. Hotel Alessandro della Spina

 

Very good, clean comfortable hotel. Just 5-10 minutes' walk from Pisa Train Station. Lot of restaurants nearby and just a 10-minute drive from the leaning tower. Spacious rooms and a sumptuous breakfast.

4. Hotel Minerva

I needed a place for one night in Pisa at a reasonable price and this was ideal. Pleasant staff, the room was fine but no lift if you have issues. The WiFi worked perfectly and the breakfast was okay but nothing to write home about. All in all, decent enough and just what I want.

5. Helvetia

This hotel is literally around the corner of the tower. The hotel is clean with lovely white sheets and big white towels. There are no elevators and our room is on the third floor, but we were aware of this before we booked. We had a lovely view from our room. Breakfast is not included but there are cafes and restaurants very close by.

A lovely hotel; the art, the ambiance, the courtyard makes it all so charming. The staff is very helpful, there provide you with a customized map of their recommendations. Very quiet but also very close to the Academy Bridge.

7. Hotel Bristol

We stayed here a few months ago so I apologize to Enrico the owner for the delay with this review. Where to start? A few days before we went to the pistol with his son and partner, he had an ankle sprain, not bad enough to cancel a vacation but bad enough to severely limit him.

How far can you walk, etc? This could have spoiled the holiday if it wasn't for Enrico. Not only did he disappear off into town on the first day and return with a pair of crutches, (i have no idea where he got them!) but after that, he offered to run us into town and pick us up again whenever we needed him to.

We took him up on the offer a couple of times, with him dropping us off at restaurants and collecting us again when we were ready to return. I cannot praise him and his staff enough. The pool area is lovely, the rooms were spotless and the general feel is of a well-run family hotel.

Once again thanks Enrico, you went out of your way to help and we were very grateful. The best service we've ever had from any hotel.
